High Protein Burger Bowls
This might be a hot take, but I can’t really get behind a protein style burger. It’s messy and it always takes like 3 bites of straight lettuce to get to the good stuff. But what I can get behind? Is this High Protein Burger Bowl – loaded with the flavors we know and love of a burger but thankfully that doesn’t make us want to take a nap at 2:00pm.
The magic of this bowl is in the burger sauce, which uses whipped cottage cheese instead of mayonnaise for a higher protein option, but I can guarantee you’ll still want to drench your whole bowl with it. These burger bowls are packed with veggies and protein, guaranteed to keep you full and satisfied, you are going to love these!

For the Sweet Potatoes:

- 2 tbsps olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika

Instructions
- For Oven Roasted Sweet Potato Fries: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
- For Air Fried Sweet Potato Fries: Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees.
- Wash your sweet potato and cut into ¼ to ½ inch wide matchsticks. Add to a parchment paper lined baking sheet and add olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Toss until each sweet potato fry is coated evenly.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes or roast in the oven for 20 minutes until tender, tossing once halfway through.
- For the High Protein Burger Sauce: whip the cottage cheese using an immersion blender or regular blender until smooth. Add ketchup, pickle juice, yellow mustard, chopped pickles and sugar. Mix until smooth and season to taste with salt if needed.
- While the sweet potatoes roast, heat a skillet over medium high heat and once hot, drizzle in olive oil. Add the beef and use a spatula or wooden spoon to break it up into small pieces. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until mostly browned but still a bit pink.
- Season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Add in the red onion and cook for 3-4 more minutes until the onion is soft. Add ketchup, worcestershire, and a splash of water and stir, cooking for 1 more minute. Taste to adjust for seasoning.
- Assemble your bowls by adding romaine lettuce to a bowl, topping with sweet potatoes, ground beef, chopped tomatoes, pickles, shredded cheddar cheese, and top with the burger sauce. Enjoy!
