A fun, 5-ingredient cocktail for your holiday gatherings — easy to make and even easier to batch for cozy sipping all season long.
If there’s one thing fall and winter cocktail menus don’t lack, it’s apple cider drinks — and for good reason. A spiked cider is hard to beat. But you know what quietly deserves more attention this time of year? Pears.
Pears have a soft, delicate sweetness that pairs beautifully with warm spices like cinnamon and cloves, making them a natural fit for holiday cocktails. This Spiced Pear Spritz is light, festive, and cozy yet refreshing — the kind of drink you can sip on while decorating cookies, hosting friends, or lingering around the table a little longer than planned.
The star of the show here is St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur, a newer addition to my bar cart that has quickly earned permanent status. It’s warming, gently spiced, and incredibly versatile — the kind of bottle that makes you want to add it to everything (a pear margarita might be next 👀). Paired with prosecco and a splash of soda, it turns into a bright, bubbly cocktail that absolutely deserves a spot at your holiday gatherings.
Trust me: this is one you’ll be making on repeat.

- When guests arrive, pour over ice and top each glass with prosecco and ginger beer or sparkling apple cider.
- Garnish as you go for a festive touch.
Tip: Always add bubbles right before serving to keep everything fresh and fizzy.
Ingredient Breakdown:
- Pear Juice or Pear Nectar
- St George’s Spiced Pear Liqueur – I hate to make people buy an ingredient for a recipe, but this is one I truly think is worth it. I was introduced to St George’s earlier this fall, and it’s such an incredible flavor booster in a spritz like this one, in margaritas, in sangria, in an old fashioned – it’s truly a workhorse for adding fall/winter spice to your cocktails. IF you can’t find it or prefer not to buy it, I recommend boosting the spices further in the simple syrup and swapping out for 1-2 oz of apple liqueur, elderflower, or cointreau. Just note using a different liqueur will change the flavor of the drink by quite a bit – still delicious, just different!
- Lemon juice – fresh is best for cocktails, always
- Simple syrup – if you’re already using the St George liqueur, you can just use regular simple syrup. Since I love a spice forward drink, I like to add some cinnamon, cloves, and ginger while making my simple syrup, but this is optional – UNLESS you are not using St George’s – then you should definitely not skip the spices in the simple syrup.
Mocktail Options:
- To make this a mocktail, swap the champagne or prosecco for bubbles like sparkling apple cider.
- Add chopped up pear to the simple syrup before cooking down and use a bit extra simple syrup to swap for the Pear Liqueur.

Notes
*Note – you can use regular simple syrup here, but I like adding a little extra spice to complement the flavor of the liqueur.
