(OH) DUTCH BABY😍
Happy Easter everyone! I think we can all agree it’s a bit of a weird Easter this year, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be extra special (family Zoom session for the win). Skip an extra trip to the store and make a fancy looking brunch with ingredients you likely already have on deck😋
Ingredients:
For the Dutch Baby:
-
1 cup flour
-
1 cup milk
-
4 eggs
-
½ tsp salt
-
1-2 tbsps white sugar
-
4 tbsps salted butter
For the Apple Compote:
-
3 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
-
3 tbsps butter
-
2 tbsps coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
-
1 tsp cinnamon
-
Juice from ½ lemon
-
Pinch of salt
Ingredients:
For the Dutch Baby:
-
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
-
In a blender, eggs, flour, milk, salt and sugar.
-
Place your cast iron in the oven and heat for 5-7 minutes until hot.
-
Remove cast iron from the oven once heated, and swirl in butter until all sides are covered.
-
Pour your batter into the cast iron and bake for 20-25 minutes until the middle is set and no longer runny.
For the Apple Compote:
-
Peel and slice thinly 3 apples (I used gala but you can use any).
-
Heat butter in a skillet and add in your apples.
-
Sprinkle in coconut sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
-
Mix well to combine and reduce until apples have caramelized and the sauce is a bit thick.
Dats it, enjoy 😊
