BROWN SUGAR SHAKEN ESPRESSO😍
My favorite Starbucks drink, made sooo much cheaper at home. I love making a big batch of this brown sugar simple syrup for quick and easy shaken espressos all week long! The ultimate Saturday treat 😉
Ingredients:
For the Brown Sugar Simple Syrup (makes about 6-8 servings):
-
½ cup packed brown sugar
-
½ cup water
-
1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (per 1 serving):
-
2 shots strong espresso
-
1 tbsp brown sugar simple syrup (use a little more if you like it very sweet)
-
Ice
-
Oat milk or Nutpods to top
Directions:
For the Brown Sugar Simple Syrup:
-
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and cook on medium low, stirring often until the sugar has dissolved. Shut off the heat and let cool.
-
Strain into an airtight glass container and keep for up to a month.
For the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso:
-
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour over your hot espresso, 1-1.5 tbsps of simple syrup and shake for 30 seconds or until your hand is very cold.
-
Fill a glass up halfway with ice and pour the whole shaken espresso into it (do not strain it, you will lose the foam!). Top with oat milk or non-dairy creamer and enjoy!
